The senior accountant will be responsible for performing, planning, and assisting audits with minimal supervision. As such, the senior accountant is expected to possess exceptional communication skills allowing for effective relationship building at all levels and must be able to work independently and in teams to accomplish a goal. The senior accountant will be responsible for initiating and maintaining direct contact with clients to resolve issues. This position also provides work direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities:
Performs audits
Preparation of compilations / reviews
Maintain knowledge of current and changing tax law and GAAS
Provide industry knowledge and expertise to a variety of clients and staff

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
CPA certification required
3+ years as staff/senior accountant at a CPA firm providing public accounting services
Basic understanding of tax law, federal and state income tax concepts, GAAP accounting rules, GAAS auditing standards
Strong skills with general office use software and an ability to adapt to new software applications required

Ability to multitask, take initiative, meet tight deadlines, and work independently in a fast paced environment
Strong organization and writing skills

Responsibilities
• Preparation of federal and state tax income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and not for profits.
• Completes write-up work for tax return preparation
• Facilitates tax planning
• Auditing
• Preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant license or candidate
• Efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in group settings and independently
